Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) clinched their maiden Indian Premier League (IPL) title on June 3, 2025, ending an 18-year quest for the championship. In a thrilling final at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, RCB defeated Punjab Kings by six runs to secure the coveted trophy.

A Historic Victory

RCB posted a total of 190/9 in their 20 overs, with Virat Kohli contributing a steady 43 runs off 35 balls. Punjab Kings, in response, managed 184/7, falling short despite a valiant effort. Krunal Pandya's economical bowling, yielding 2 wickets for 17 runs, earned him the 'Man of the Match' award.

Virat Kohli's Emotional Milestone

For Virat Kohli, who has been with RCB since the league's inception in 2008, this victory was particularly poignant. After 267 matches and three previous final losses (2009, 2011, and 2016), Kohli finally lifted the IPL trophy. Overcome with emotion, he dedicated the win to former teammates AB de Villiers and Chris Gayle, acknowledging their contributions to the team's journey.

Celebrations and Legacy

The triumph sparked jubilant celebrations in Bengaluru, with fans taking to the streets to revel in the long-awaited victory. RCB's success not only fulfilled the dreams of its loyal supporters but also solidified its place in IPL history. The team's perseverance and commitment over nearly two decades culminated in this landmark achievement, marking a new chapter in their storied legacy.

RCB's 2025 IPL title stands as a testament to resilience, teamwork, and the unwavering spirit of a franchise that never gave up on its quest for glory.
